چکیده

Abstract Sustainable infrastructure is one of the sustainable development goals (SDGs) introduced by United Nation. By utilizing waste materials as recycled and reused in construction, it offers great benefits to people, economy environment for geotechnical project development. The low strength marine subgrade pavement soil can be improved chemical stabilization from abundant natural near coastal area. use seashells such cockle shells powder formed considered a potential additive replacing lime cement stabilized soil. Yet, its performance improving properties has not extensively been investigated. Thus, unconfined compressive with shell (CSP) was assessed experimentally. treated specimens were mixed 2.5%, 5%, 7.5% 10% CSP (by dry weight sample) prepared cylindrical dimension 38 mm diameter 76 height prior compression test based on optimum moisture content (OMC) obtained compaction test. All experiments carried out accordance British Standard. results show that improve highest 636.785 kPa which 157% increase compared untreated Therefore, study have shown addition significantly stabilization, especially highways, airport runways parking areas.

The Effect of Geopolymerization on the Unconfined Compressive Strength of Stabilized Fine-grained Soils

This study focuses on evaluating the unconfined compressive strength (UCS) of improved fine-grained soils. A large database of unconfined compressive strength of clayey soil specimens stabilized with fly ash and blast furnace slag based geopolymer were collected and analyzed. Subsequently, using adaptive neuro fuzzy inference system (ANFIS), a model has been developed to assess the UCS of stabi...

Influence of Curing Time and Water Content on Unconfined Compressive Strength of Sand Stabilized Using Epoxy Resin

Improvement and stabilization of soils are widely used to improve the physical and mechanical properties of sandy soils. Despite the abundance of researchers that have been conducted on this topic to date, most of them have focused on dry soil. The effects of the existing water in the soil and different curing durations (curing environment) have not been investigated. In this study, different p...

Effect of Industrial By-Products on Unconfined Compressive Strength of Solidified Organic Marine Clayey Soils

The use of industrial by-products as admixture to ASTM Type I cement (ordinary Portland cement (OPC)) was investigated with the objective of improving the solidification of organic marine clayey soils. The industrial by-products considered in this paper were oyster-shell powder (OSP), steelmaking slag dust (SMS) and fuel-gas-desulfurized (FGD) gypsum. The industrial by-products were added to OP...

the effect of taftan pozzolan on the compressive strength of concrete in the environmental conditions of oman sea (chabahar port)

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...

Influence of Soil-industrial Effluents Interaction on Subgrade Strength of an Expansive Soil-a Comparative Study

The rapid growth in population and industrialization cause generation of large quantities of effluents. The bulk effluents generated from industrial activities are discharged either treated or untreated over the soil leading to changes in soil properties causing improvement or degradation of engineering behaviour of soil. If there is an improvement in engineering behaviour of soil, there is a v...
